The Sous Chef Summer Camp – Western Hemisphere is a one-week hands-on culinary leadership experience designed for motivated high school students. While working alongside the Junior Chef program, the Sous Chef plays an elevated role—organizing stations, supporting the Chef, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
This themed week focuses on the cuisines of North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean, exploring comfort foods, bold flavors, and classic Western cooking techniques.
What Students Will Learn:
- Culinary Skills: Knife techniques, baking basics, cooking methods, and food presentation.
- Kitchen Management: Organizing stations, teamwork, and quality control.
- Food Safety: Maintaining cleanliness and handling ingredients properly.
- Team Leader: Act as second in command to the Chef. Support and lead the session, help keep the kitchen organized and running smoothly and ensure everyone is successful.
This class is open exclusively to high school students who are passionate about cooking, enjoy collaborating with others, and are eager to develop professional kitchen skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Cost: $250 plus tax for a full week of hands-on learning
